Our Services
Welcome to Gleno Veterinary Centre – Your Trusted Partner in Pet Health and Wellness.

At Gleno Veterinary Centre, we are dedicated to providing top-notch veterinary services tailored to the unique needs of your beloved pets.
Our team of experienced and compassionate veterinarians is committed to delivering the highest quality care in a welcoming and stress-free environment. See below what services we can provide:

Diagnostics: Our state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment allows us to accurately assess your pet's condition. From digital radiography to advanced blood tests, we provide timely and accurate results to aid in effective treatment planning.

X-rays- X-rays are an extremely useful diagnostic tool. We usually require your pet to be sedated to take xray images and therefore we request that your pet is admitted to stay in our care for the day, so that we can monitor them during sedation.
The x-ray images are processed digitally and instantly and can be directly emailed to referral centres if a second opinion is required.

Ultrasound- The ultrasound scanner is another useful diagnostic tool and has the bonus that your pet may not need to be sedated. We can do pregnancy scans of your pet in consult, making it a quick experience for you and your pet.
We also have mobile farm animal ultrasound scanners for use in pregnancy diagnosis and other fertility work.

Laboratory- In our lab we can offer haematology, biochemistry, cytology, urinalysis, microscopy and culture/sensitivity testing and anything that can't be tested in-house we can post to one of our associated external labs with a very quick turnaround for results.
For our farm and equine clients we also now have an in-house worm and fluke egg count machine that can get results within 20mins. This is helpful for checking for parasites in an individual animal or more importantly for determining whether or not your whole herd/flock requires worm or fluke dosing.

• Emergency Care: Accidents and illnesses can happen at any time. Our emergency care services ensure that your pet receives prompt attention and expert medical care when it's needed most.
If this happens out of our normal hours don't worry as we have our own vets on call 24/7. Just call 028 2826 0602 and follow the instructions to get talking directly to a vet who can talk you through your emergency and arrange for them to be seen immediately if necessary.

For flea and worm treatments after 6 months old our vets can provide you with a plan that works best for your dog.

Wellness Examinations: Your pet's health is our priority. Our thorough wellness exams help detect and prevent potential health issues, ensuring your furry friend enjoys a long and happy life.
A wellness exam includes:
- Checking teeth- We will do a full oral exam of your pet to check for any dental problems which may need addressing.
- Checking eyes- We will check your pets eyes for any changes. This could be particularly important for older animals which may be showing signs of loss of vision.
- Checking ears- We can use an otoscope to check down your pets ears to make sure no signs of infection or inflammation.
- Listening to heart and lungs- We will perform auscultation of your pets chest to listen for any abnormalities of the heart or lungs. This can be important to pick up heart disease early to initiate treatment before a problem occurs.
- Checking for any other abnormalities- We can palpate for any lumps that you may be concerned about on your pet or check joints for any arthritic changes which may have developed. It is important to pick up on these changes early, so a treatment plan can be initiated before the signs worsen.
